You'll showcase a work-based marketing project, demonstrating how you've applied your marketing knowledge and skills to a real business challenge or opportunity.

This apprenticeship is suitable for people working in a marketing role where they have responsibility for supporting, coordinating or delivering marketing activity and have opportunities to develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required at Level 4.

How long does the Marketing Executive apprenticeship take?
The apprenticeship typically takes around 15–18 months to complete, followed by the end-point assessment period. The exact duration may vary depending on the apprentice's starting point, experience and individual training plan.
How is the apprenticeship delivered?
KTA delivers the apprenticeship through structured online learning alongside practical development in the workplace. Apprentices receive regular tutor support and apply their learning through real marketing campaigns, projects and day-to-day responsibilities.
Do I need to already work in marketing?
Yes. You need to be employed in a suitable role that provides opportunities to develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required at Level 4. This could include marketing, digital marketing, communications, campaigns or another suitable marketing-focused role.
Can an existing employee do this apprenticeship?
Yes. The apprenticeship can be used to develop an eligible existing employee as well as someone recruited into a new marketing role. Their job must provide appropriate opportunities to apply and develop the requirements of the apprenticeship.
Is there an age limit?
There is no general upper age limit for an apprenticeship. The programme can support people progressing within marketing as well as experienced employees looking to strengthen their professional marketing capability. Eligibility will be checked before enrolment.
What are the English and maths requirements?
English and maths requirements depend on the apprentice's age, prior qualifications and individual circumstances. KTA will review existing qualifications during enrolment and confirm any requirements that apply.
How is the apprenticeship funded?
Apprenticeship training is funded through the apprenticeship funding system. The funding available and any employer contribution will depend on the employer's and apprentice's circumstances and the funding rules in place at the start of the apprenticeship. KTA will confirm the funding position before enrolment.
How is the apprenticeship assessed?
At the end of the training period, apprentices complete an independent end-point assessment designed to demonstrate how they apply their marketing knowledge, skills and professional behaviours in the workplace.
What will I receive when I complete the apprenticeship?
After successfully completing the programme and end-point assessment, you will achieve the Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship and receive your apprenticeship certificate.
Does the apprenticeship provide a CIM qualification?
The apprenticeship develops knowledge and skills relevant to professional marketing practice, but it should not be confused with a separate CIM qualification. Apprentices who want to pursue CIM membership or qualifications can explore the professional development routes available through the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
