END-POINT ASSESSMENT
How you’ll complete your apprenticeship
Once you have completed your training and are ready to progress through gateway, you’ll complete an independent end-point assessment designed to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours you’ve developed throughout your apprenticeship.
Project
You’ll complete a work-based project that allows you to demonstrate how you apply your housing and property management knowledge and skills within a real working environment.
Professional interview
You’ll take part in an interview or viva with an independent assessor, giving you the opportunity to discuss your project and demonstrate your understanding and professional competence.
Your KTA tutor will support you throughout your programme and help you prepare for gateway and understand what to expect from your end-point assessment.

Housing & Property Management Level 3 FAQs
How long does the Housing & Property Management apprenticeship take?
The apprenticeship typically takes around 18 months to complete, followed by the end-point assessment period. The exact duration may vary depending on the apprentice's starting point, experience and individual training plan.
How is the apprenticeship delivered?
KTA delivers the apprenticeship through structured online learning alongside practical development in the workplace. Apprentices receive regular tutor support and apply their learning directly within their day-to-day housing or property role.
Do I need to already work in housing or property?
Yes. You need to be employed in a suitable role that gives you the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the apprenticeship. This could be within social housing, private housing, lettings, property management or another suitable housing and property environment.
Can an existing employee do this apprenticeship?
Yes. The apprenticeship can be used to develop an eligible existing employee as well as someone recruited into a new role. Their job must provide appropriate opportunities to develop and demonstrate the requirements of the apprenticeship.
Is there an age limit?
There is no general upper age limit for an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships can support people beginning their career as well as experienced employees developing new skills and progressing within their organisation. Eligibility will be checked before enrolment.
What are the English and maths requirements?
English and maths requirements depend on the apprentice's age, prior qualifications and circumstances. KTA will review existing qualifications during enrolment and confirm whether any additional English or maths development is required as part of the apprenticeship.
How is the apprenticeship funded?
Apprenticeship training is funded through the apprenticeship funding system. The amount of government funding available and any employer contribution will depend on the employer's and apprentice's circumstances and the funding rules in place at the apprentice's start date. KTA will confirm the funding position with the employer before enrolment.
How is the apprenticeship assessed?
Once the apprentice has completed their training and is ready to progress through gateway, they complete an independent end-point assessment. This includes a work-based project followed by a structured professional interview with an independent assessor.
What will I receive when I complete the apprenticeship?
After successfully completing the programme and end-point assessment, you will achieve the Level 3 Housing & Property Management apprenticeship and receive your apprenticeship certificate.
Does the apprenticeship support professional membership?
Successful completion can support progression towards professional membership with organisations within the housing and property sector, including the Chartered Institute of Housing, Propertymark and The Property Institute, subject to the relevant organisation's current membership requirements.
