Knights Training Academy run a number of successful football academies across the country, all of which have gained an outstanding reputation for excellence and success.
Working with a range of professional and semi-professional football clubs, KTA deliver a combined full-time study programme (BTEC Diploma) whilst developing and nurturing footballing talent through UEFA qualified coaches.
Students attend an Academy daily to train and to undertake a two-year BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Sports. The course covers a range of sports related units including: anatomy and physiology; assessing risk in sport; fitness testing for sport and exercise; sports nutrition and leadership.
Because the academies are based within professional football clubs, not only do students benefit from state of the art training facilities, they also get the opportunity to compete against top competition with an opportunity to be scouted for a professional club, all of this whilst they are still investing in their education. Not all of the students turn professional, many of them go onto higher education or into work within the sports/leisure industry.
Academy students have a number of progression routes to consider, including moving onto university to pursue a career in PE teaching, coaching, sports management, sports science and journalism. Some students are spotted and turn professional and some progress into relevant employment or onto apprenticeship schemes.
All courses are open to talented footballers aged between 16-18 years. A playing trial and academic interview will be required as places are not offered solely on playing ability.
