Apprenticeships

At Knights Training Academy, we offer a variety of Apprenticeships within the workplace. At present, we have a vast amount of Apprenticeships available, ranging from Business Administration to Customer Service.

Today’s economic climate is challenging for most businesses and Apprenticeships offer an alternative and effective route for your organisation to develop its talent pool and invest in people who will grow with your business.

Apprentices can and do make a positive impact across all industry sectors in the UK and Knights Training Academy is here to make it easier for employers to find the right apprentice for your team. For employers with less than 50 employees, there is a £1500 grant available from the government, for employing an apprentice aged 16-24. Intermediate Apprenticeships

An Intermediate Apprenticeship is equivalent to five good GCSE passes. Apprentices work towards work-based learning qualifications such as an NVQ Level 2, Key Skills and, in most cases, a relevant knowledge-based qualification such as a BTEC. These provide the skills required for the apprentice’s chosen career and allow entry to an Advanced Apprenticeship.

Advanced Apprenticeships

An Advanced Apprenticeship is equivalent to two A-level passes. Advanced apprentices work towards work-based learning qualifications such as an NVQ Level 3, Key Skills and, in most cases, a relevant knowledge-based certificate such as a BTEC. To start this programme, the applicant should ideally have five GCSEs at grade C or above or have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship.

Higher Level Apprenticeships

Higher apprentices work towards work-based learning qualifications such as an NVQ Level 4 and, in some cases, a knowledge-based qualification such as a Foundation degree. New Higher Apprenticeship frameworks are being developed as part of the Higher Apprenticeship Development Fund and will be available from 2012/13. Apprentices can also progress to higher education, including university degrees.
